  • couldn't even finish the video because i could start to feel this knife in my back that was killing how im going to watch this movie. fuck chris! we know the world of film isn't perfect but we have come a long way from the sequals. 2 is still my favorite

  • The best horror thing you can watch right now is, " the haunting of hill house " on Netflix.

Ep5 shook me to the core.. And id really like you to review this!

  • I would like to start by saying that mean no disrespect and that I often agree with your opinions on certain films I'm also a massive Halloween fan like yourself but this review has really rubbed me the wrong way and would like to explain why.

As someone who has seen the film I don't understand the lack of tention, Michael Myers stalking his victims felt tense and satisfying I also felt tention between Lorie and her family because she's willing to protect her family even if it means losing them emotionally that felt tense because I don't want her to lose her family emotionally or physically.

As for the humor I don't think it was intrusive I felt that was included as a way to loosen up the audience after a big scare or before a big scare to catch them off guard but overall I didn't find it intrusive or pointless so felt it was effective.

Great dialogue and story, as the for the town thinking Lorie is crazy I kinda see where your coming from but I also have to bare in mind in that it's been 40 years and most of these people now probably haven't experienced something like Michael Myers so they may see her a bit odd.

Now what really got on my nerves in this review is the grade, with that grade you are effectively telling me as a viewer and a movie goer that Halloween is relatively on the same level as Venom.

While had some entertaining moments overall Venom was not a good movie, weird editing, questionable effects, bad pacing and overall terrible dialogue but will admit I got some enjoyment but not a lot.

Halloween 2018 has none of those issues I feel, has really good dialogue, more interesting characters, great sequences and overall a better story, by telling that this is effectively on the same quality level as Venom not only do I find that quite insulting but is a lie as well.

There is also the nitpicks such as the title, I don't think that should affect the grade and comparing it to Terminator 2 which I find completely unfair due to it being a completely different movie and genre.

To finish off I think you completely missed the mark this time and produced an inferior review and I don't mean to be brash but feel like I have to say it, this time Chris your completely full of shit.

  • Hey dude, have you watched Zathura? It is a sequel to the Jumanji book, although it is totaly not connected to the book nor movie, it is just the same concept but in space with aliens and robots and black holes.

  • Hey Chris I have and it worked question. What happened to that Halloween series review you promised us when you reviewed Halloween one and 2? I was really looking forward to that.

  • A large problem that this film had to overcome was being both a sequel to a legendary film that people have held in high regards for decades and also being a film for the many people who haven't watched the first Halloween until now and don't hold it as highly. Both groups are important to the artist, and both are important financially. My fiancé is a huge Halloween fan, while I have never seen it until this week. We are both expecting to get different things out of this new movie when we see it this weekend. I anticipate enjoying it more than her, but maybe it'll be the other way around.

  • Halloween 2 is one of my faves. I loved that it was an immediate continuation from the first, and had more Michael Myers. Maybe seeing it again would change my mind, but 20 odd years ago when I saw it I thought it was better than the first for the simple fact it elevated everything? Looking back through rose coloured glasses maybe… expectations aren't high, but still going to see this one.

  • oh man this brakes my heart to hear this didn't pull it off I have been so exited since I saw the epic trailer.. also sweet shit, I want it.

  • I am so addicted to your channel! I agree about 90% of your reviews. It is also very inspiring. I love movies and have often thought of doing an all horror review channel. I am not as articulate as you though.

  • Loved Halloween 1 and 2. I just wish we could have gotten a more consistent story throughout the years. It seems the franchise went in three different directions. Halloween 4, 5 and 6 took us in one direction then they seemed to retcon it for 7 and 8 and now the retcon it again. Laurie Strode had three different kids in three alternate outcomes of her character. It just seems it's all over the place. This is supposed to be the true sequel but I just can't forget about the others and I can't throw them away like they want us to. Too bad they couldn't have kept it all together as one story
